There are over 100 Chapters and 20,000 PF members in Iowa. The Iowa State PF Council was created to assist local chapters and their members reach their goals—protect, preserve and improve wildlife habitat in Iowa.

A big part of the Council’s responsibility is to administer the Land Acquisition Trust Fund. Local chapters contribute 10% of their net fund raising proceeds to the Trust Fund and in turn can apply for larger grants to support local land acquisition projects. Since 1989 the fund has distributed over $3 million dollars and helped acquire nearly 40,000 acres of public wildlife habitat across Iowa.
